       Rosacea

Skin disease Rosacea causes pimples and redness on the cheeks, chin, nose and forehead. Another name for rosacea is ‘adult acne’ it causes outbreaks that look like acne. It can cause soreness and burning in the eyes and eyelids. Researchers are not sure what causes rosacea. Rosacea seems to run in families and effects people who blush easily and are fair skin. Drinking alcohol can cause the symptoms to flare up. When the blood vessels on the face expand it causes redness. Some common triggers are wind and sun exposure, hot weather, alcohol, spicy foods, stress, exercise and hot baths. Extreme temperature changes from hot to cold or cold to hot can also cause a flare up of rosacea.

There is no cure, but with treatment, most people can control their symptoms and keep the disease from getting out of control. Most important thing is to learn what triggers a flare up and avoid them. Use a sunscreen that is SPF 15 or higher to block the ultraviolet and infrared rays. Use a moisturizer during cold weather to prevent dryness. Doctors usually prescribe antibiotics to treat rosacea. If you have a mild case of rosacea and have it under control except for occasional flare ups, then Prosacea is a homeopathic treatment you may want to consider.
